We’re excited to welcome back the phenomenal harmonica player Adam Glasser to Highams Park Jazz Club! Adam will be headlining our jam session as the featured artist.
He’ll be playing his captivating first set with our house band — Soner Ersen on piano, Dave Manington on bass, and Tom Hooper on drums — before the jam session kicks off in the second set. This is a fantastic chance to listen, or even get up and play alongside him.
We also have a fully licensed bar and delicious food to enjoy throughout the evening. Don’t miss out on this incredible evening. Get your tickets now to secure your spot!
South African chromatic harmonica virtuoso Adam Glasser has performed with Sting, The Eurythmics, Incognito, Joe Zawinul Syndicate, and Abdullah Ibrahim, and has collaborated with numerous prominent UK jazz musicians.
His acclaimed albums ‘Free at First’ (winner of the 2010 South African Music Award for Best Modern Jazz Album) and ‘Mzansi’ (nominated for the 2012 SAMA Best Jazz Album) explore lesser-known and original South African jazz compositions.
Adam’s harmonica repertoire includes a wide selection of contemporary jazz standards, featuring key compositions by Toots Thielemans, with whom Adam shared credits on the feature film ‘Hard Rain’.
“Glasser’s deep appreciation of South African music history made for a unique spectacle.”
– Percy Mabandu, City Press – Cape Town Jazz Festival
“All the virtuosity and panache associated with practitioners on more conventional instruments […] a wholly impressive evening’s music from a man in complete control of his considerable resources.”
– Chris Parker, Vortex Jazz Bar
