We’re absolutely delighted to welcome back the incredibly talented and much-respected saxophonist Patrick Clahar to Highams Park Jazz Club! We can’t wait to have him join us again as our special guest for the upcoming jam session.
Patrick is a London-based saxophonist, composer, and educator who’s gained international recognition for his work with the likes of Incognito, Basia, and Bill Bruford. One of the leading saxophonists of his generation, Pat’s a powerful post-Coltrane tenor player known for his beautifully melodic improvisations.

He’s a key figure in the Julian Joseph Big Band and small group, and many will know him as the saxophonist in Bill Bruford’s Earthworks. He’s a sought-after session player too, having worked with Jazz Jamaica, Jason Rebello, Steve Grossman, and plenty more. On top of all that, Pat is a highly respected educator within the jazz community.

His impressive list of collaborators includes James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, Rose Royce, Sister Sledge, Lou Reed, Nicole Scherzinger, Omar, Harvey Mason, Billy Cobham, Joss Stone, Patti LaBelle, The Headhunters, Light of the World, Mica Paris, and Carleen Anderson.

This really is an evening not to be missed. Patrick will open the first set playing alongside our house band—Soner Ersen on piano, Jason Simpson on bass, and Winston Clifford on drums—before the jam session kicks off in the second half. Whether you want to get up on stage, have a natter and pick up some tips from a master saxophonist, or just come along to listen and enjoy, it’s sure to be a brilliant evening.

We also have a fully licensed bar and delicious food to keep you fuelled through the evening. Get your tickets now to secure your spot — we’re really looking forward to seeing you there!
