We’re delighted to welcome Rob Townsend as our featured artist at the Highams Park Jazz Club Jam Session on Sunday 7 December.
Rob is an acclaimed saxophonist and flautist, best known for his long-standing work with Steve Hackett’s band (ex-Genesis). A hugely versatile player, Rob has toured the world, performing everywhere from intimate jazz clubs to major international festivals and arenas. His first love is jazz, and his playing blends tradition, fire and sensitivity in equal measure. Alongside his work with Hackett, Rob has collaborated with countless greats from across the jazz and popular music spectrum, including Eddie Henderson, Sam Rivers, Django Bates and Georgie Fame. He also worked as Head of Jazz at Middlesex University, helping to shape the next generation of British jazz talent.
For this special session, Rob will be joined by our superb house trio: Soner Ersen (piano), Andy Cleyndert (bass), and Eric Ford (drums). Together they will open the evening with a first set, before the stage opens up for the jam. Bring your instrument if you’d like to play, or simply sit back, enjoy the music, and soak up the atmosphere.
Doors open at 4pm for a 5.00pm start. We have a fully licensed bar and delicious food available to order, plus great acoustics and a welcoming community feel – the perfect way to spend your Sunday evening.
Tickets: £10 general admission / £5 for musicians who’d like to join the jam. Children aged 16 and under go free, but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

We are a four-minute walk from Highams Park overground station, which is on the Liverpool Street to Chingford line. We are also two overground stops from Walthamstow Central underground station at the end of the Victoria line. Alternatively, the 275, 212 & W16 bus routes will bring you within a short walk of All Saints church. If you are coming by car, there is plenty of free available parking and no restrictions after 6 p.m. on single yellow line from Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sunday.
