Phil Robson Trio

We’re very excited to welcome the Phil Robson Trio to Highams Park Jazz Club for the first time! This is going to be a fantastic evening of live jazz with three top musicians bringing serious energy, groove and creativity to the stage. If you’re into great guitar-led jazz with a proper swing and some surprises along the way, this is one to catch.

Phil Robson is a brilliant guitarist and composer who’s worked with some of the biggest names in jazz – from Barbra Streisand and David Liebman to Kenny Wheeler and Maceo Parker. His playing is full of character, invention and intensity, and he’s just as strong a writer as he is a soloist. Expect a mix of Phil’s own tunes, jazz classics by the likes of Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson, and a few standards thrown in for good measure.

Joining him are two outstanding players: Mark Hodgson on double bass – a hugely respected figure in UK jazz who’s played with everyone from Randy Brecker to Cedar Walton – and Jay Davis on drums, a rising star known for his dynamic style and collaborations with Laura Jurd, Emma Rawicz and others.

It’s going to be a proper night of great music, great vibes and top-tier musicianship – all in the relaxed and welcoming setting of Highams Park Jazz Club. Come down, grab a drink and some delicious food, and enjoy some seriously good jazz right on your doorstep.
