We’re absolutely delighted to present a very special evening with Tim Garland Trio on Saturday 9 May at Highams Park Jazz Club. This performance marks Tim’s first-ever appearance at the club, and we’re proud to welcome one of the UK’s most imaginative and celebrated jazz musicians for a lyrical and powerful night of music.
Tim Garland pays tribute to the stirring compositions of Ralph Towner, and for this special performance, he will feature the very rare Mezzo Soprano Sax, making this a truly unique and unmissable event. Joining him are John Turville on piano and Niklas Lukassen on bass, forming an intimate trio that promises a deeply engaging jazz experience.
Tim Garland is internationally acclaimed for his extraordinary creativity and technical brilliance. As both a world-class jazz improviser and an imaginative composer, his performances combine lyrical beauty, rich harmony, and spontaneous improvisation. With accolades from legends like Chick Corea—“His level of genius is rare”—and praise from The Guardian as “one of the rarest imaginative talents in jazz,” this evening offers a chance to experience a truly exceptional artist up close.
