We are excited to kick off our 2026 jam sessions after a long break during January and February. Jam sessions will be held on Sundays, as usual, from 5 to 8 pm, but instead of fortnightly, they will now take place every four weeks, along with one concert every four weeks on Saturdays at 8 pm. We’re delighted to welcome back Nat Steele to Highams Park Jazz Club. A leading UK vibraphonist renowned for his swinging bebop and hard bop style, Nat brings vibrant energy and outstanding musicianship to the stage. His previous appearance at the club was a real highlight, and we’re thrilled to have him return for another unforgettable evening.
Nat’s debut album, Portrait of the Modern Jazz Quartet, received widespread acclaim, including Jazz Album of the Month in BBC Music Magazine, 4-star reviews in The Observer and Jazzwise, and a Top 10 position in the Japanese jazz charts. He has performed at prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and toured extensively across the UK, including an 18-date Arts Council–funded tour alongside New York tenor saxophonist Grant Stewart. He was also invited by Grammy Award–winning pianist Alan Broadbent to premiere a new composition celebrating Watermill Jazz’s 25th anniversary. Nat is currently working on two new albums, including a tribute to Milt Jackson to mark the centenary of his birth.
The evening will begin with a first set featuring Nat and our house band, followed by a second-set open jam session—always a favourite with audiences and local musicians alike.
